Dirt is moving! After a fairly mild winter and early spring, our grading contractor (Elder Corp) jumped at the opportunity to get rolling in late March. J Elder, a member of our church, put us at the top of the list and we are so grateful for his involvement and efforts of his team. We also found that our site was in need of additional dirt to build up the site. Another friend of Summitcreek owns land diagonal from the site and he graciously gave us a great deal on soil, so Elder is also currently loading and hauling additional import dirt to the site. On these nice spring days, the site is a flurry of activity.
Project bidding is complete! Our general contractor (Henning Construction) has also been busy bidding on all the different aspects of the project. Over the winter they sent plans out to a long list of suppliers and subcontractors. Once low bids were received they then vetted them for qualifications and ultimately selected the best qualified vendors and trades people for our project. The selected vendors were then asked to value-engineer in their specific area to further identify potential cost saving modifications. Contracts are now in place and many of the long lead time items, such as electrical and hvac equipment, have been ordered.
A job trailer has been brought into the site and is fitted with a job site camera. Click here if you would like to take a look!
Prayer Requests:
- Project budget and financing. With the current inflationary economy and potential impacts from tariffs, the costs on a few items still remain in flux. Please pray the project will come in under budget with expected financing in place.
- Continued unity with all parties involved including church representatives, building team and project consultants.
- Continued unity and excitement with church membership.
